1:50 Transporter Models – the vehicles between passenger cars and trucks

Almost everyone collects large machines in 1:50 scale. The transporter is the counter-movement: smaller, less spectacular, and for that very reason rare as a model. A panel van next to a four-axle dump truck is the only way to truly show how large the dump truck actually is. We have nine models in stock, all in 1:50 scale.

The MAN TGE is the backbone

Six of the nine models are based on the MAN TGE. It is available as a panel van with a high roof – with a long wheelbase and single tires – and as a platform truck with a double cab, the classic tradesman's vehicle. In addition, there is the closely related VW Crafter as an IAA 2024 special model.

The BF3 escort vehicles

Two models stand out: the VW Transporter in the BF3 version. BF3 stands for the highest level of escort for oversized and heavy-duty transports – these vehicles drive in front and secure the route. In terms of content, they belong to heavy-duty transport, and that is exactly how you display them: in front of the low-loader, not alone.

The article number is particularly important here

In hardly any other category do the models look so similar. The MAN TGE platform truck with double cab is available under 1616/02 in white, 1616/03 in yellow, and 1616/05 in the MAMMOET livery. The panel van works the same way: 1615/17 as "Next Level", 1615/19 for STEHNKE, 1615/20 for KÜBLER. Same vehicle, different lettering.

If you are looking for a specific model, go by the number, not the model name.

What to look out for

The printing: For tradesman and company vehicles, the lettering makes all the difference. On the large, smooth surface of a panel van, any misalignment is immediately noticeable.

The proportions: A transporter in 1:50 is small – around ten centimeters. Fine parts such as mirrors and roof structures determine the overall impression here.

The purpose in the display case: Transporters rarely look good on their own. They reveal their appeal as a scale reference next to a large machine – or as an escort vehicle in a transport scene.

Buying transporter models – in a nutshell

1:50 scale, die-cast zinc, panel and platform superstructures, company liveries. Prices currently range from around €54 for the "KÜBLER" panel van to €98 for the "STEHNKE". Almost everything here is based on a MAN original and comes from Conrad. In a broader context, the vehicles can be found under truck and commercial vehicle models, their big brothers in heavy-duty transport and among the dump trucks. Shipping from Germany, packed in a collector-friendly manner. Not suitable for children under 14 years of age.
