Prototype brands at a glance

Prototype or model?

The prototype brand is the maker of the real machine: Liebherr, Scania, Porsche. The model maker is someone else — Conrad, WSI, NZG, Pop Race and COBI build the miniature. This page sorts the range by prototype. Sorted by model maker, carry on here: Conrad · WSI Models · NZG · Pop Race · COBI.

A marque missing?

The range holds further prototype brands that do not have a page of their own yet — Terex, Caterpillar, Goldhofer, Palfinger, Stetter, Opel and Lockheed among them. They grow with the range and get a page once enough models come together. Until then you will find them in the full overview.

All company and brand names mentioned are the property of their respective owners and stand here only for the prototype depicted. There is no business relationship with the companies named.

The start

Five years old. First Matchbox. No chance anymore.

1982. What began as a small, child-sized metal car
laid the foundation for everything that followed.
A fascination with vehicles, with machines,
with the perfect miniature representation of the real world.

Die Leidenschaft wächst

The collection grows. So do the demands.

Matchbox becomes more. Larger models,
more detailed designs, true-to-life scales.
The realization: A model is not a toy.
It is an object with a story behind it.

Die Besessenheit

1:50 – and suddenly things get serious

Conrad. WSI. NZG. The world of 1:50 scale
models opens up – and with it a precision
and attention to detail that surpasses everything
seen before.

Die Spezialisierung

Mining Equipment. The ultimate discipline.

A Caterpillar 769. A Liebherr R991.
Machines that literally move mountains
and dominate the shelf in 1:50 scale.
This fascination never lets you go.

Die Idee

What's missing, you build yourself.

The plan is taking shape. A shop for collectors,
by a collector. No mass shipping, no
anonymous warehouse. Just curated models and
genuine expertise behind every order.

Der Start

July 1, 2021 – collectors-spot.de goes live.

After more than 40 years as a collector, my first day
as a shop owner. Not as a dealer – as a collector
with a shop. With a promise: I personally know
every model displayed here.
