Concrete Mixer and Concrete Pump Models 1:50
The truck mixer is the vehicle with the most eye-catching movement on the entire construction site: the drum rotates even when the truck is stationary. In a model, that is precisely the appeal – and the quality test. We have twelve models available, all in 1:50 scale.
The body manufacturer is the real brand
With a truck mixer, it’s not the cab that counts, but who built the drum. Four models feature a Stetter body, four a Liebherr HTM in the 904 and 905 series. In addition, there is a Schwing Stetter S51 SX – which is not a mixer, but a concrete pump truck with a 51-meter mast – and a Putzmeister M42-5 iONTRON, the electric version of the same category.
The difference is important: a truck mixer brings the concrete, and a concrete pump conveys it to where it is needed. In a display case, they belong side-by-side because they also work together on the real thing.
The chassis
Eight models are mounted on a Mercedes-Benz – five Arocs, two Actros, and the LAK 2624 as a historical conventional-cab truck. Plus, a MAN TGS M and a MACK Granite. They are built by Conrad (10) and NZG (2).
The item number, and a special feature
As is the case everywhere with Conrad, the specific version follows the slash: 78258/06 wears the colors of HEIDELBERG MATERIALS, 72131/02 those of BERGER, and 78234/11 those of peterbeton. For the Liebherr mixers, there is an L- prefix – L-72119/04 for CEMEX, L-72119/15 for SCHWENK. The same model, two concrete plants.
What to look for in a truck mixer
The drum: It must be able to rotate, and do so smoothly. A drum that sticks or wobbles is the most common annoyance with inexpensive models.
The loading and discharge chute: It should be swiveling. A mixer with a rigid chute can only be displayed in one single position.
The printing: Concrete plants have distinctive company colors – clean pad printing on a curved drum is significantly more difficult than on a flat surface. That is exactly how you recognize the manufacturer.
For the concrete pump: Whether the mast can be unfolded in all segments and whether the outriggers extend. Factor the extended support width into your display space.
Buying concrete mixer models – in a nutshell
